Lots Happening!!

Well its been a while since I have been able to sit down and write an update!! The puppies are all maturing nicely. We are still looking for homes for Polar Bear and for Echo. The temps here have been too warm to run the dogs. We are anxiously awaiting the cooler temps so we can get out and start training. When the temps drop its usually been pouring rain so still no training. Here's hoping for cooler temps soon!

We have a new website address: http://nduringpeacesiberians.weebly.com This site is a new wonderful free site to build wonderful websites!! Its much easier to use than geocities once you get the lay of the land so to speak.

We have upgraded to high speed internet as well. We have had to go to satellite internet but well worth it!! So updating our photos of the dogs will be much easier and faster!

We have had Nikki entered in a couple of shows. No points yet but wonderful ring experiences. Right now we are just making sure showing is fun for her. She has started in obedience classes as well and so far is doing wonderful! She surprised me that was for sure.

Fall in the air?

Well the mornings here are really starting to feel like some training temps! The dogs are getting all excited at 5:30am! The puppies too....not too sure if they know why they just know everyone else is excited so I might as well be too! LOL... I have seen a few trees starting to turn colours as well as the bean crops are starting to yellow. Sure signs of fall.

We started stake out training with the puppies today. Jag, Mercedes and Diamond all did well once they realized they couldn't run away. Polar Bear did well after about a half hour of standing there thinking she was going for a walk! LOL...... Echo was a little scared but did well right near the end.

We are still looking for a home for Pearl. She has come along nicely in the last year. Mind you she doesn't like other females, males are fine(I guess that comes from being the only girl in a litter of 8!). She is a solid little girl and Dante will be seeing what she can do in harness this fall. Rocky has gained weight steadily over the summer and is now a nice weight and filling out lovely. He is looking more and more like his grandfather Jello (www.mishawum.com )

Not too much new......

Well we are still surviving the heat humans and dogs alike! Most of our nights have been cooler and the dogs notice and get all excited! They are just as anxious to get out and run as I think Dante is becoming. The pups are all maturely nicely. We have noticed in the past week or so they seemed to have sprouted some more. Echo is still our tallest girl but not by much...Diamond and Mercedes are giving her a good run.
Our boy Rocky (from our EmmaxRocky breeding with Mishawum) is really turning into a nice boy! Watch for some updated photos soon! Our friends over in Vermont at PeacePups Dogsledding are having fun with our boys Thunder/Prescott. Pacem (Loutus x Enzo)was my favourite and is one sweet girl. She went camping/sailing with them this past week and is looking wonderful!!
As all our racing friends are getting anxious for cooler temps and training/racing season to be upon us we wait anxiously with them! We are hoping for a successful season on the trail. Watch for updates on our progress. There may be a few dogs available for sale.
Well off to try and stay cool and start to get the kids ready for back to school.....its just 2 weeks away!! YEAH!!!

Its HOT!

Well is seems summer has FINALLY arrived in Southwestern Ontario! Its HOT and humid! The dogs hate it. But alas they must endure as we all must. I did hear mention that this winter we will see an above average snow fall that we haven't seen in years! Maybe just maybe we can get in some serious training and racing this winter. Dante is anxious to get back out on the circuit seeing as he took 2 winters off so he could be near his dad in his illness.

It still seems I am in the middle of a husky cloud as the dogs continue to drop their coats.......time for some bathing and blowing out of the coats.

Nikki has been to a few shows. She is a pistol that's for sure! I love her personality very much! She is a VERY social dog and her tempermant is wonderful.

The pups continue to grow quickly and although they look sleek they are SOLID! Keep an eye out for some upcoming photos soon.

I wish I knew what Mother Nature was up too. You can tell she is a woman as she is constantly changing her mind! She needs to decide and stick with either warm and sunny or back to winter!

Season's Change

Spring is in the air!! Most of the dogs are starting to finally drop their winter coats. The next few weeks will be spent with everyone taking their turns brushing out dogs!

Our puppy girls are growing like weeds! They are all going to be good sized females which will be nice. Even our little small girl FingerPaint has caught up very nicely with her sisters. Speaking of FingerPaint she has found herself a new home in Switzerland! She is doing very well and her flight didn't bother her at all. She has joined a lovely sprint racing kennel.

A few more changes have occured with the changing of the seasons....Prescott and Thunder have moved on to a wonderful home in Vermont. They have joined Ken at PeacePups DogSled Rides and Tours . Both boys are fitting in nicely.

We still have 3 beautiful pups available to approved homes. Echo and Polar Bear would make lovely additions to an active race team. Porsche will make a wonderful pet or rec team addition.

The whole litter is turning out so beautifully. I knew that when they were born on the day Dante's father passed away that there were very special things in store for this litter. We are excited for the seasons to come to see and hear how they all brighten each new families life.

How Time Flies

Not too sure if the news has been heard by everyone. But come this summer Yahoo is closing the Geocities site. So that means we will be moving our website to a different host. As soon as I find one that will fit our needs I will make sure I post it here so you can reset your bookmarks if you have us in your favourites.

It looks like warmer weather is starting to show itself in Southwestern Ontario. Today was almost 30C!!! We are liking the warmer temps not too sure if our furkids are though. With warmer temps we can focus on getting gear ready for next fall and cleaning up the yard and planting gardens. Also with warmer temps means some more shows for us to do. We are looking forward to showing our new prospect Nikki. She is a fireball and loves people and thinks the world revolves around her. Keep tuned in to hear about Adventures with Nikki in the coming months.

We still have 1 adult looking for a home as well. Feel free to look at Pearl. She is a little smaller than we would like. So if you need a smaller girl to add to your race team or need a new companion feel free to drop us a note.

Puppies and Dogs

Well life continues to be interesting around here at the kennel. This past saturday we flew one of our puppies to Denver on Northwest. What an amazing airlines to fly animals on! They treated her soooo well. She was no worse the wear when she arrived entertaining the staff in cargo from what I hear! lol

As mentioned before we have 4 available girls. I will try to let you know a little about each.
Lefty: is the tallest of the litter. She likes to watch the world happening around her before engaging. She is rather a smart little pup.
Polar Bear: Is a competitive pup. She LOVES to win and will pull tails to ensure she wins.
Patch: She is a sweet little girl and would make someone a wonderful pet.
Fingerpaint: She was the runt of the bunch but has caught up nicely. She gets along with everyone and has taught herself how to sit for her supper.

8 weeks already?!

All these girls have wonderful personalities and are quite social. Loutus has done a wonderful job at raising them!! We couldn't have asked for a better mother!

Puppies

Well the pups are growing in leaps and bounds!! We have got a bunch of smart little cookies!!! These girls catch on quickly and are figuring things out by watching. They already know how momma gets locked in and try and free her! They know the sounds of certain things....running water=we get a drink;a kissing noise=food!;they know Dante's voice and that means some serious play time!

4 week Stacked Photos

Well it was a little bit of a chore but we have 4 week stacked photos. We decided to do them after a feed so they were more on the sleepy side. For the most part everyone co-operated. We are trying not to get too attached to anyone. Not that its working! LOL But we are getting our favourites watching them play etc.

There are a few that are missing some pigment around their eyes but structurally they are look wonderful. We will know more about that when we do the 8 week evaluations.

Week 3 Puppy Photos

Its hard to believe its been 3 weeks since these little ladies were born! Time goes by way too fast!! They have started some eating some soup puppy food mixed with goats milk and are gobbling it up quite quickly. Mom continues to nurse and do extremely well with them. Despite her getting nipped by their new found teeth!! In a few weeks they will be running all over the kitchen and getting into all kinds of puppy troubles I am sure, but for now I will enjoy still being able to catch them while they wander away from the box. They are managing to find their way out and back from the box on their own even without momma in the room.

Puppy Pictures

I have posted some head shots of the puppies. They are 10 days old and doing well. All are gaining nicely. Momma is doing a fabulous job! I am in awe of how she is taking care of the brood. Momma even looks to be gaining a little weight while she is nursing 10 little ones. Hard to believe. We have only 1 with only 1 eye open. Its funny as she is the smallest of the bunch but she is a fiesty little thing. You can view their pedigree here:

Well after a very long night and dramatic entry our litter has arrived. We have 10 beautiful girls! Yes they are ALL girls!! This litter is going to be VERY promising as to have a litter this big with all girls and markings I just know this litter is going to be amazing!! Something just tells me it is....and I'm not saying that because its my litter.lol

Its just a matter of days now

Well Loutus is DEFINATELY having puppies. Holy smoly she got big! We are anxiously awaiting their arrival. She is due anytime the week of Jan 11-17/08. She has started to try and find a spot to nest. I have caught her in the clean laundry making a nest, in my son's room on his bed nesting in his blankets. She has claimed the loveseat in the livingroom as her own. We are still taking reservations for this litter. We expect some wonderful racing dogs as well as loving little bundles!
