Its just a matter of days now

Well Loutus is DEFINATELY having puppies. Holy smoly she got big! We are anxiously awaiting their arrival. She is due anytime the week of Jan 11-17/08. She has started to try and find a spot to nest. I have caught her in the clean laundry making a nest, in my son's room on his bed nesting in his blankets. She has claimed the loveseat in the livingroom as her own. We are still taking reservations for this litter. We expect some wonderful racing dogs as well as loving little bundles!

Now the waiting game.......

Loutus was bred this past weekend to Enzo (Mishawum Siberians). Now comes the waiting part. We are very anxious to see what puppies come along!! We are currently taking reservations for this litter so please email us to have your name added to the list. You can view pictures and pedigree on our website under the litters page.

We added a new face here this weekend as well. I will post pictures when I can. Zirkle is showing some very promising things in possibily a rally or obedience arena.

We have been able to get a few times to train and this past weekend Prescott ran almost 7 miles!! We couldn't believe it!!

Needing Homes

Well this past week Growler and Button (our rescue) went in to be altered. We used a new vet and WOW I must say we were impressed. Both only have a small incision and just 1 stitch! They were both bouncing ready to go when I went to pick them up.

We are needing to find loving pet homes for these 2 dogs. Growler is a year old and has been doing fairly well in the house. He has been living in the kennel/yard with the rest of the gang. He is quite a "talker" and if there are people he loves around he will talk! He looks still very much like a puppy.

Button's story is a little sad. This past february when we had that cold snap of -30C weather we found her in a ditch! She had been there for days so I come to find out later. She was right in front of a string of houses and no one bothered to go and get her. We stopped when we spotted her almost being hit by a car. She was no more than 10-12 weeks old. She still had all her baby teeth. She jumped right into Dante's arms. She was a little stinky and cold but ok. We called all the local vets/pounds etc. After 2 weeks no one had bothered to come and claim her so she became ours. Our best guess is that she is a shepard cross of some kind. We figure she is around a 1 year old now as she has had 2 heat cycles since being here. She is now altered and full of love ready to go to a new home. We are still working on crate training her but she is doing much better. She is starting to bark and whine when she needs to go out. She gets along well with other dog and loves kids and people.

I am pretty sure neither dog would fair well in a home with cats. But KIDS you Bet!

Fall is in the air!

Well the temperatures are finally feeling like fall. The big question here in Southwestern Ontario is will it last? We are praying that it will. The dogs were so full of energy today!! I was laughing at them in the yard playing with each other and they seemed to have endless energy today. We had a few of them out in the excercise yard tonight and they just kept on going. If the temps stay cool we will be able to get our first training run of the season in on the weekend. Here's hoping!!

A New Forever Home.....

We are happy to announce that Dakota has found a wonderful forever home! Many thanks go to Tamara and John and their tribe!(5 kids and a little baby)He definately will live out a nice cushy retirement. He has 2 new "little" sisters, Molly and Sadie and even a cat. Yes I said a cat! Whom arched her back and hissed at him! Dakota tried to hid behind Tamara! He has never had a cat stand up to him, he always just chased so things will be just fine in that area! I am so glad that we found Tamara and John and their family they are wonderful people who love animals as their own children, Dakota will be well loved!

What a weekend!

Well this past weekend I travelled to Long Sault, ON to see some old friends and make some new ones! I brought Ace to show him at the regional Specialty being held at this show. Although he wasn't awarded anything in the ring he received MANY wonderful compliments outside the ring. He had TONS of fun made a few new friends so that makes it a successful weekend for us! Although winning is nice it isn't everything!

Willow is now back home and is VERY happy to see her family. Everyone gave her a big welcome home howl when they saw her monday morning! It was very heartwarming.

The last few weeks there has been a hint of fall in the air and I am LOVING it! Our focus is beginning to change here at NduringPeace as the nights are getting cooler. Dante is getting anxious to get out and start our fall training with the team. The dogs are starting to shed their summer coats already.......do they know something that we don't ;)

Ace finishes his Championship

Well Ace finished with a bang this past weekend! On Monday July 7 Ace took Winner's Dog, Best of Winners, Best of Breed and then went on to take a group 2nd under judge Patrica Cruz! We wish to thank our "fan club" ringside who cheered Ace on! As all could see Ace LOVES applause!

This win gave Ace 5points so he is now a Champion. (pending CKC confirmation)
