A week of Loss here

This week has been a very emotional one here at the kennel. Words can't begin to describe the sorrow that is in our hearts. Last Monday Feb 3 we lost 2 wonderful dogs. TWD's Emma and TWD's C Loutus de Loufranc. Emma was 11.5 and Loutus just celebrated her 13th birthday this past November. Both the girls were taken from a horrible fast growing cancer. It came about quick and we decided to ease their pain and let them pass to the bridge in peace and meet the others who have gone on before. The loss here has been profound and everyone here human and canine alike are feeling the pain and loss. The girls have been looking for their mom's. Loutus was a gentle soul to both human and canine baby alike. Emma was content to just be Emma and enjoy her retirement days in leisure.

Yesterday saw another tragic loss here. We lost NduringPeace's Captain Barbosa aka Rocky. Rocky was Emma's son. We are not sure what happened we went to do kennel checks and he was gone. He had been sad all week and not quite himself but we couldn't find anything physically wrong with him. He was a wonderful soul here at the kennel much loved by all here. It still surreal that he isn't here.

Rest well Emma, Loutus and Rocky.....wear your silver harnesses well......run free and teach Frank how to drive a dog team while you are up there! Til we meet again......all our love,

Dante, Cathy , Matthew, Ethan and Joshua and the rest of the gang here.

Happy Birthday....Remembering the Life Not the Loss

Today is our "Car" litter's 2nd birthday! This litter holds a special place in our hearts here at NduringPeace as they were born the morning Dante's father passed away. Dante's dad loved his cars and so Dante felt it appropriate that the girls all be named after cars. Dante's dad loved our dogs......its amazing how our God works. This litter being born the morning Frank passed has allowed Dante to look at these dogs and kept a little piece of his Dad with him everyday it has heped ease Dante's pain.
We have placed half the litter, we have one in Switzerland in a racing home, one in Colorado being used in a race team, one in New Hampshire and one in Vermont being used on touring teams, and one in Sarnia in a loving pet home. So in essence Frank's memory is being held around the world. That to me is pretty darn cool! Our girl Diamond is named after Frank's favourite car and she is one big love bug!! Dante always wanted a black dog with ice blue eyes...and he got 2!
God always knows what is best....we hold to our hearts very dear the scripture that says: All things work together for the good of those that love the Lord. While we may not know why we have to go through the pain of loss, God is still in control. Its the small things that at times brings the greatest joy. We have focused on the small things over the past few years to see the beauty in the valley. Choosing to remember the life and not the loss. We have made the decisions to follow our dreams, to live life to its fullest to embrace each day with whatever may be thrown our way. Some days are easier than others but getting up everyday ready for adventure is this journey called life.

All in Moved in.....sort of.......

Well we did the big move!! Closer to snow!! Woohoo!! Well here's hoping we get a ton of snow! We are now located in Eastern Ontario. The dogs are all trying to settle in and we even have a new addition here at NduringPeace!! Thanks to Trishamar Kennels! Boy its been awhile since we had a new puppy here.......well It seems like a while....almost 2 years. Oh the puppy howls at being crated are enough to break your heart! lol......He loves it here! Watch for his ring debuts in the new year!! We are excited to have him here with us at NduringPeace and look forward to what he brings to our kennel.

So for all my New England friends I am now only 6 hours away instead of 15!!! LOL......that just means I am closer to east coast lobster......mmmmmmmmmm We might even take a tour out there in the near future.

We will be looking to place a few dogs this fall. Some of our dogs just aren't turning out as well as we had hoped for.....and some are still amazing us at what they can do!! I had to laugh yesterday as we were getting ready to load the dog box to move the dogs our old girl Loutus( she will be 10 in November) got all excited.....it was cool and there was a dog box in the yard....means running time!! I hope she wasn't too disappointed that she just got a LONG truck ride!! lol I am sure there is still a lot of spunk left in her!!! Dante is anxious to get running again....its been a long time since he has been able to do the sport that he loves so much. He knows his dad is looking down on him and cheering him on. That is one thing his dad loved so much was our dogs. How appropriate that he should pass on the morning we were whelping a litter.

As Dante stands outside we can hear a nearby kennel with their dogs howling.....feels good to up here. It's nice and cool up here, almost time to start training. :)

So feel free to drop us a line or if you see someone on our site you might like to add as an addition to your home or team feel free to drop us a line.

Gotta run for now.......

Dog Days of Summer!

Well its HOT!! Not too sure our dogs like the heat much....just lazing around sunning themselves. Don't you wish we could all just lay around and tan all summer long?! Today its finally raining so I now have a yard full of mud puppies! Instead of using the dog houses they are playing in puddles and rolling in mud!

We are already planning fall training teams. Thinking of cooling temps. Dante is looking forward to being back out on the trails this winter after missing it for a few years. When his dad was sick and then last year with no snow.

So remember to all start thinking of your snow dances for this winter to bring on the snow and have some great runs/races!

We will be placing some of our yearlings this fall. A few haven't turned out as nice as we would like and others we were to place blew us out of the water on training runs last year!

Feel free to post a comment or drop us a line to say hi!

Another Successful Weekend!

This past weekend I attended the Windsor Dog show with Nikki. We picked up another 4 points towards her Canadian Championship. We would like to thank the Judges Mr.Len Harfield and Mr.Thomas Nesbitt.
We had a great time! Seeing some friends....watching the dogs and just hanging out. I bought a much needed new grooming table too. The photo is courtesy of Taja Siberians . Thank you Melissa and Jess for taking and sharing the photos!
We are VERY pleased with how Nikki is maturing and what a wonderful dog she is. Many thanks go to her breeder and co-owner Melody Roth of Trishamar Kennel for entrusting us with her. Continue to look for Nikki in the future!!

This is Nikki in her latest show win at the Elgin Kennel Club. She showed beautifully and behaved herself. She had fun and so did I. She is still doing well in the obedience area, so we are going to continue to do classes with her.
We did have some snow here but then lost it all to a massive rain we had. So we are back to brown grass and now huge ice rinks of ice! Mother Nature really needs to send some serious snow!!!
Our puppies are now a year old!! Hard to believe the year has flown by!! Feel free to visit our website and look around. We have a few that are looking for homes.
I hope you all are having a better winter than we are here in Southwestern Ontario!!
